Kitty-cat Stowee #3: Cat on the cool tin roof
Late Tuesdee aftahnoon, popsu let Yakko out of her cage foh playtime and dinnah time. Then soon aftah me arrived fwom woik, popsy, who was still outside puttering around, stuck his head in through the kitchen door to see if kitty-cat (Yakko) by any chance was inside the house. He said he had noticed that the kitty-cat wasn't around outside (which is surprising) and was wondehwing if kitty-cat had slipped inside the house unnoticed. When matsu and I said we didn't see the kitty-cat inside but didn't think she was, popsy went back out ageen to find Yakko. A few minoots laytah he was back with news: kitty-cat must be on the roof!
Haay...so had to go outside to help popsy who said all he heard was faint meowing from somewheh but couldn't figure out where the meowing came fwom. Anywees, popsy decided to climb onto the scaffolding that was still standing along the side of the house to take a look on the roof. But as it was already dahk--and kitty-cat was even dahker ;)-- he couldn't see much. So he just called out Yakko's name and finally aftah several minoots, popsy called to us, "She's here" But when kitty-cat refused to come near popsu, me had to go fetch the bag of kitty-cat food. To help attract kitty-cat, me rattled the bag on mi wee outside. Then me hoid popsy say, "She's coming already!" and just as I toined the corner to the side of the house, kitty-cat came running up to me. :) Phew! So had to give kitty-cat (and the odah kitty-cat) a few bits. (They had alweady been fed dinnah.)
Popsu guesses that kitty-cat must have heard the rats running along the gutter of the roof and decided to climb up the scaffolding then onto the roof to investigate. Once she was up there, however, she must have lost her wee and couldn't figure out how to climb down. She probably also couldn't see over the gutter edge and figure out on which side of the house/roof the scaffolding was.
